PSA: Avoid any insurance agents who are unhelpful, terse, condescending, and refuse to pay out or assist in filing claims like the one I had the opportunity to work with here. Take your money elsewhere if you have any chance. Someone there may help you out if you ask around, but not likely. An agent there asked not to be recorded, to which I told him it is just because I am not the only person who has the power to make informed deductions in our home and it should be between my partner and I to discuss, but that they weren’t available and I knew some details would be lost to memory. He then attempted to convince me that it was illegal even after trying to explain informed consent and that there was a notification made to him at the beginning of the recording. Regardless I stopped recording and let him know that if he wouldn’t be willing to consent moving forward we would finish out our current policy but shop with other agents and providers going forward. Just a fair warning to anyone else who may think that is a little shady! Tim, the reception specialist provided me wonderful service today, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating when it came to my preferences. He has single-handedly kept my policy with both State Farm and their office. (Tim is the best and deserves his own google page for the five star review I promised before his colleague called, that’s all). Leave a negative review and they will swiftly remind you that they have the ability to dox you in a public forum, but of course with some plausible deniability and a sardonic smile on the side!
